Pure fantasy seen throught the eyes of David Winter, a delightful concept where a family man lives in a house which takes its shape from materials in their natural form.
Normally a tree is felled, shaped into planks, and put up again as a house. David considers this illogical and has shown the main structure being the tree trunks. The house held up with no help from man at all.
He has used the branches as a framework and instead of being governed by the ground on which the house is built, he has been guided by the shape of the trees surrounding it.

"Bert" was the working title for this piece; it was also know as "Tree House" before the name Woodcutter's Cottage was evetually decided upon. One of the so-called Fantasy Series (together with Master Mason, Hermit's Humble Home, and House on Top.
Mould 1: Early pieces (1983-1985) have a sharper point to the highest tree stump as centre.
Mould 2: The tip was rounded off to avoid demoulding problems.
