Wall tiles, floor tiles, roof tiles, decorative tiles, every type of tile you could possibly want -- are all made here and have been for many years, for this is a family business, passed on down the generations.
   The kiln adjoining the cottage is never allowed to go out, everyday you will find some member of the family busily loading, unloading or tending to its valuable contents. The newly fired tiles are inspected closely by the tile maker and any rejects are stacked outside and sold off. Of course, there are not many rejects as he takes great pride in his work.
   The tile maker can also sell the clinker, or residue, left from the furnace, as it makes a good base for the village paths. Similarly, the ash from his kiln is ideal for conditioning local garden soil. Both are collected regularly, for at the busy rate at which the tile maker works, his home would soon disappear under a mountain of clinker and ash.
