Nessies Pub (the final cottage colouring will be cream, not white).
Located on the shores of Loch Ness, the pub was originally known as The Fisherman's Arms and was famous for miles for the wonderful fresh Salmon it served in the restaurant and for the home smoked Salmon that every visitor bought to take home. It was run by a canny Scotsman (Jock) who used to serve tiny Tappa-like dishes of smoked Salmon along with the drinks, knowing full well that one taste and nobody would be able to resist buying a side of Salmon for home consumption. Then Nessie was sighted from the pub's garden. Instant fame and tourists came in droves. However, some didn't know the pub's name and wandered into other pubs to ask their way, spending money that Jock felt should all have been filling his till. This just would not do so Jock thought hard and the Nessie Pub was born. A new sign painted overnight and all those lovely coins were at last going where he knew they belonged! Background
The original wax sculpture is shown at the bottom of this page as well as some colour trials (pictures of these will be added as soon as we get them). |
