Mouse Catcher's House
Mousecatcher did object to his name, he was not a mousecatcher but a mouse trainer. He trained his pet mice to perform all sorts of circus acts and even had a small ring within which they performed.
He traveled all over the area with his small circus giving delight to children wherever he went. Unfortunately he also seemed to give delight to any stray mice that were around and on arriving home would always find one or two extra mice who had run away to join the circus. This was all right at first as he extended the acts and trained more and more mice but eventually he had to put small seats around his ring and just let the extra mice act as an audience as his show could not keep getting longer and longer.
He felt like the Pied Piper of Hamlynn but could not bear to hurt any of his little friends and built roundabouts and swings, slides and climbing ropes so they would never be bored. He extended the play area into his garden and all the local children knew that if they would like a couple of pet mice they had only to visit Mousecatcher and he would be happy to give them two.

Background Sculpted in April of '05 in the studio. David sculpted this piece when Sheila Pearson-Doty said how much she loved Neptune's Staircase but felt it was a shame to break that group into part Guild Cottages and part not.

The wax original is shown below and so far we have only seen one example of possible painting as the first painting was chosen by David and popular with everyone.
