Aunt Mary's is best visited at night, especially with a full moon that throws interesting shadows out as you wind up the path toward the house. Surrounded in undergrowth, the house has a tendency to suddenly appear in front of you. It is a fitting tribute to its builder, looming larger than life and twice as high as anything else in the village. Although still commanding and powerful, the house has an air of peacefulness about it today.
However, all was not so tranquil in its past and locals still mutter of strange things going on from the time of Aunt Mary. Beware, they say, the house still remembers and every once in a while it will remind us. The spirit of an unnaturally lost soul has not yet loosened its grip on the memories and, of course, the stories of the village.
