The Kirk
Scattered across Scotland in even the tiniest hamlets you will find a Scottish Kirk (church). Many are out in the countryside and it is amazing that so many are still open all the time to worshippers and/or sightseers. Some of the Scottish Kirks are very austere as simplicity was admired and many of the sects do not believe in any display of richness. Many have their own bell tower and bell ringing was a very important part of the community especially in the second world war where bells were used as warning as well as in celebration or even time keeping.
David's church is a church of the peoples. Not ornate but beautiful in its simplicity. You can imagine the peace that would surround you no matter what your beliefs when stepping inside.

Background
Sculpted in David's studio, this is part of the Neptune's Staircase Collection. There were 3 colour trials and the choice between the two was very difficult. The colours chosen in the end were the ones chosen by David.
