They say that every Engishman's home is a castle, but as you wander down Canal Steet you might be forgiven into thinking that they must have meant pub. In the middle of Canal Street is the pub John Bull, a very English institution with many traditions. The regulars, and there are many, come from all walks of life, some by foot and, of course, some by barge for this is the pub on the canal. Traditions are an essential part of Canal Street and everyone is invited to visit John Bull's pub. Cosy up to the bar and join in the chat, every subject is covered from politics to the local football team.

When Lucy first opened her shop on Canal Street, she struggled with what goods to carry--haberdashery, grocery, children's clothing--she loved them all but couldn't make up her mind. The only solution was to have a shop with no limits.
Inside there lies a wondrous assortment where it seems that simply everything and anything could be found if one just had the time to look. In the centre of it all is Lucy, tiny with laughing eyes and a ready wit, always ready to lend a hand or make a suggestion or two. Quite often it seems that she knows what you need before you do.
