David wanted his Charter Members cottage to be special and hold meaning behind its design. You can probably trace David's thought process by this: Set on the banks of a river, the Foundation now comes to fruition as "Canal Street Bakery." The "staff of life" is bread. Bread and water can be seen as basic essentials of life, so our Baker's home takes shape. This is not a modern day baker who uses packets and mixes, but one who buys his grain from an organic farm. It is then transported to the bakery by canal. Here the baker uses the "waters of life" to grind the grain into flour.

For Charter Members in 2004, David created a cottage called Foundation. Taking the Foundation as a base, he created Canal Street Bakery as the finished cottage, a special cottage only available to Charter Members. Two colour ways were created and thee final colouring was chosed by a majority vote. The second colour way and the wax sculpture is also shown.
