Burns' Night is January 25, when Scotland celebrates the birthday of its greatest poet, Robert Burns. Burns' Reading Room was inspired by a painting by Henry G. Guiguid called "William Smellie's Printing Office, Anchor Close, Edinburgh." Smellie published some of Burns' work and the poet used to come here to proofread his poems. The painting can be seen in the Prints & Drawing Room of the National Gallery of Scotland in Edinburgh.
