The buildings old Joseph designs will never become famous, but he is content in the knowledge that his humble creations will be around long after he is gone, like his own house, which displays an amazing array of decorative beams.
The arch and the room above it were later additions. Here Joseph has created an archive room, which at first sight looks to be a complete jumble of old drawings, but there is in fact a careful labelling system in place. Designs are never discarded--they are all here, from his very first sketch to his latest completed work. Although it may take you or me a little while to find any particular one, Joseph can always find the old drawing he needs within minutes.
His new project is to design a row of alms houses for the local village--being a charitable man he gives his services free, but this job will be done just as professionally as any other he has ever undertaken.
